Re: Prevent browser opening after an updateHello
Go on http://www.liberkey.com/en/your-liberkey.html . Simply disable View LiberKey update reports automatically on LiberKey.com and View application installation reports automatically on LiberKey.com. JP4U

Re: [solved] Prevent browser opening after an updateAre you using LiberKey’s portable mode, or did you install it with system integration does that affect how it calls the browser?
Re: [solved] Prevent browser opening after an updateThis issue usually comes from the updater forcing a post-install action. Turning off the auto-launch flag in the program’s settings or adjusting the update script often solves it. Some apps also let you disable “open after update” in their advanced options. Once that setting is off, updates run quietly without opening a browser window.
Re: [solved] Prevent browser opening after an update## **1. Google Chrome**
Chrome tends to reopen after updates because of **background apps or startup settings**. **Steps to prevent it:** 1. **Disable background apps** * Open Chrome → Settings → System → turn **“Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed”** OFF. 2. **Change startup behavior** * Settings → On startup → select **“Open the New Tab page”** (or **“Open a specific set of pages”** without any pages). 3. **Stop Chrome from launching at login (Windows)** * Task Manager → Startup tab → disable **Google Chrome**. 4. **Stop Chrome from reopening after update (macOS)** * System Preferences → Users & Groups → Login Items → remove Chrome. * Also, when shutting down, uncheck **“Reopen windows when logging back in”**. --- ## **2. Microsoft Edge** Edge can reopen after updates due to startup tasks. 1. **Disable background apps** * Settings → System and Performance → turn off **“Continue running background apps when Microsoft Edge is closed”**. 2. **Change startup behavior** * Settings → On startup → select **“Open a new tab”**. 3. **Stop Edge at login (Windows)** * Task Manager → Startup → disable Edge. --- ## **3. Firefox** Firefox normally does not open automatically after updates unless **“Restore previous session”** is enabled. * Open Firefox → Settings → General → Startup → uncheck **“Restore previous session”**. * Also check for **background service**: * Windows → Task Manager → Startup → disable **Mozilla Maintenance Service** if you want. --- ## **4. Additional Tips (All Browsers)** * **Windows “Restart Apps” feature**: * Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options → turn off **“Automatically save my restartable apps when I sign out and restart”**. * **macOS Resume feature**: * System Settings → General → “Close windows when quitting an app” → check this option. * **Antivirus/Update tools** sometimes trigger the browser to open. Check your update settings. Stay curious, keep building, and share what you learn.
